With a lifelong passion for sports, Dr. Chase chose to pursue spots medicine, and today, he specializes in knee and ankle surgery.
He thinks one of his most important jobs is explaining things to his patients.
"I think the most important thing is communication. I try to talk to patients without a lot of medical jargon, and explain from the very beginning, these are the options, these are the things you can choose to do."
He says effectively explaining things to patients can be the difference between a successful outcome and failed outcome, no matter what he does in the operating room. If patients don't understand their role post-surgery, all of his work will have been for nothing.
He explains how he works with patients to weigh through all the information out there, especially the research patients find online.
Plus, find out what state-of-the-art techniques the team at Jewett uses to customize surgeries for each patient's unique anatomy.
