Kurt A. Gasner M.D. specializes in hand, shoulder and elbow surgery. He takes care of everything from the clavicle to the fingertips. Rather than focusing on just one joint grouping, he says he enjoys the variety of focusing on all parts of the upper extremities.
"Orthopaedics combines sporting things, physical activity, with the art and science of medicine, which intrigued me," Gasner said. "What interests me about the hand, in so many ways, is the anatomy of it. It's so intricate. The hand is how we investigate our world. It's important in development, even as youngsters. What we touch and what we experience helps our brain develop. I have a part in helping keep that healthy."
He recalls looking at his children's hands when they were born and marveling at the miracle of one of our most intricate and essential organs.
Find out what kind of doctor he thinks his patients are looking for and how he works to meet their goals.
